Story Ideas

Looking for a good story about TD Bank or the banking industry?  Check out the TD Bank story leads below.

TD Bank’s mural program invites bank visitors to step back in time and soak up the local community’s beauty and history. The program was introduced in 1999 to promote local heritage and continue TD’s commitment to giving back to the community. Many TD stores have their own unique murals, 7.5 ft. by 13.5 ft. pictures created by colorizing and enhancing old black and white photos from local history. For more information about our murals, contact us.

Penny Arcade

Customers love using Penny Arcade, TD Bank’s coin counting machine. We even know of a New Jersey resident who saved $7,000 in coins to help his kids go to college. The Penny Arcade, free for TD Bank customers, is also a great tool to teach kids to save!  For more information or for some fun facts about Penny, contact us.

Financial Literacy

To make sure kids get the financial skills they need, TD Bank created the TD Bank WOW! Zone – a multimedia financial education program. The free workshops are presented in the classroom with additional resources online, and are designed to help students in grades K-12 develop strong economic skills. For more information about the WOW! Zone program or for tips on how to teach kids to be financially savvy, contact us.

Community Involvement

Active involvement in the community is at the heart of the TD Bank philosophy. TD Bank and the TD Charitable Foundation, the bank’s giving arm, have contributed millions of dollars to organizations and communities from Maine to Florida who help make life better for us all.  But it’s not just about giving money - TD Bank employees devote countless hours every year to give back to their communities through bank volunteering programs, such as our Employee Reading Program and TD Tree Days, and through local community events and activities with organizations that are close to them. For more information about community events and involvement in your community, contact us.

LEED Stores

TD Bank is committed to building energy-efficient, LEED-designed stores. LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is an internationally-recognized mark of excellence by the U.S. Green Building Council. As a business, we are committed to providing our customers with convenience, great service and products and financial strength. Constructing these energy-efficient stores - that use less energy and promote a healthier local environment - is not only good for the local community, but it’s a smart business decision, too. For information about our LEED qualifications or for a list of stores that meet LEED requirements, contact us.

Small Business Lending

TD Bank is actively lending to Small Businesses and growing our market share at a time when many other banks are scaling back. We are here to lend, when they are ready to borrow. Throughout the downturn, we continued to lend to Small Business, and we’re lending now to help fuel the upturn. We are a bank of local lenders making local loans and our commitment to local decision-making ensures that the unique challenges and opportunities of each market are understood and considered. For more information on our lending philosophy, or to speak to a small business owner who has borrowed from TD, please contact us.
