The TD Bank WOW! Zone is a free online and in-school program for students in grades K-12 that teaches how to save, budget and build good financial habits early in life. The classes – which meet the U.S. National Content Standards in Personal Finance and Economics – are taught at schools and youth organizations by trained TD Bank Employees.
Now in its tenth year, the TD Bank Summer Reading Program has encouraged thousands of children in grades K-12 from Maine to Florida to read while also teaching them the value of saving money. Every child who reads 10 books over the summer receives a $10 deposit into a new or existing TD Bank Young Saver account.
Through TD Bank's Employee Reading Program, TD Employee volunteers read select books to elementary school and youth organizations throughout the year to encourage reading all year long. The books, chosen for their message about the importance of good financial habits and the importance of saving, are donated to the school’s or organization’s library for children to enjoy for years to come.
TD Tree Days tree planting events give Employee volunteers the opportunity to get actively involved in their local communities, while helping to create a greener and healthier environment in underserved urban areas. Tree Days in the United States is part of a TD-wide tree planting initiative to engage our Employees in forest stewardship with events also taking place across Canada and in the United Kingdom.
Each year, Employees have an opportunity to give back to their communities through TD Bank’s annual Employee Giving Campaign. Employees hold fundraisers, participate in community volunteer projects and make contributions to raise money for registered charitable non-profit organizations from Maine to Florida. In addition to our Employee campaign dollars, the TD Charitable Foundation makes annual corporate donations to each of the United Ways within the TD Bank footprint.
We recognize the importance of our financial support to non-profit organizations, civic groups and institutions that sustain the well-being of the communities we serve.
The TD Charitable Foundation's “Housing for Everyone” Grant Competition funds initiatives that help create, rehabilitate or maintain safe, affordable housing for thousands of people in local communities. Since it was established in 2006, “Housing for Everyone” has awarded nearly $10 million to help provide safe, affordable housing in the U.S.
Offered through the TD Chartiable Foundation, the Non-Profit Training Resource Fund focuses on strengthening the capacity of non-profit organizations to provide job training, education and professional development opportunities for their employees.
